The City Farm and Environmental Play Area

The City Farm and environmental play areas are an integral part of the Adventure play experience. Our farm has an ever-changing variety of livestock and houses animals such as donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and ducks.

Children using the playground are fully involved in the every-day care and welfare of the livestock.

The Environmental Play Areas have been developed to foster interest in the wide variety of wildlife to be found in the area. It also provides an area where children are free to play, build dens and create their own trails.

Information for Visitors.

All adult visitors should report to a member of staff to sign in. Groups wishing to visit the Adventure Playground should contact the manager prior to planning a visit (please note there may be a modest charge for organised group visits).

All visitors should understand that they should respect every child’s right to play by not hindering or obstructing them. Adults behaving in a way that is disrespectful to basic play principals may be asked to leave the site.

“Play encompasses children’s behaviour which is freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated. It is performed for no external goal or reward, and is a fundamental and integral part of healthy development – not only for individual children, but also for the society in which they live”.

We are currently developing Green activities for children in a play setting, if you are interested in more information please contact the manager directly.
