Family fun in store as Blacon play area gets set for makeover

10 August 2018

There will be lots of exciting activities and entertainment for people of all ages on offer as Avenue Services hosts a free Family Fun Day in Blacon.

The event is taking place at Graham Road Playing Fields between 12.30-3pm on Saturday 11 August and will feature stalls, face painting, a bouncy castle and much more besides.

There will also be refreshments and visitors will be able to sample a wide range of fresh, tasty local produce.

The fun day will mark the start of a refurbishment of the Graham Road play area.

Starting week commencing Monday 13 August, work to install a new piece of play equipment called a ‘space net’, repair and repaint the perimeter and improve drainage at the site to reduce flooding issues will be taking place.

The refurbishment is expected to take three weeks to complete and is part of a wider development programme being delivered by Avenue Services in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council to improve play areas across the Blacon neighbourhood.

Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “The on-going programme of improvements ensures that these popular facilities are maintained for everyone to continue to enjoy.

“We know our residents have been very pleased with the refurbishments carried out to date and we look forward to unveiling the new-look Graham Road in the near future.”
