More than 17,000 residents of all ages have enjoyed taking part in a fun-filled summer of activities here in Blacon.
Avenue Services worked closely with Cheshire West and Chester Council, Councillor Carol Gahan and partners in the local community to deliver an exciting programme of more than 50 events featuring fishing, nature activities, roller discos and more.
Blacon Adventure Playground hosted weekly ‘Monday Funday’ events throughout the summer, with children enjoying exciting activities including zorbing, football and archery.
Elsewhere, people of all ages tried their hand at angling during free Let’s Fish! sessions hosted by the Canal and River Trust on the Shropshire Union Canal, while Holy Trinity Church served up free lunches and family-friendly activities every week throughout the summer holidays.
Children enjoyed taking part in nature activities at Blacon Nature Park, while the annual Blacon Festival saw more than 3,000 people make their way to Queen Elizabeth Fields for a colourful, circus-themed community celebration.
Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “We work closely with our local partners, volunteers and councillors to ensure there are a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy in Blacon.
“It was wonderful to see so many people having such fun this summer and we look forward to providing even more exciting events for our residents to enjoy in the coming months.”
