Proposals for a new community sports hub at King George V Playing Fields.

21 October 2019

Blacon residents are being encouraged to give their opinion on proposals for a new community sports hub at King George V Playing Fields.

Chester FC Community Trust and Cheshire West & Chester Council are working in partnership to develop King George V Sports Hub. The £1.6 million scheme would see the existing pavillion and grass pitches improved and brought back into use together with the creation of a new floodlit 3G artifical pitch and clubhouse with community facilities.

A public consultation has been launched and is running until 30 November with the results and feedback vital to shaping the final plans for the development.
Jim Green, CEO of Chester FC Community Trust, said: “We believe the sports hub is an amazing opportunity for Chester. “It will provide much needed sporting and community facilities for people of all ages and deliver significant benefits, increasing participation in sport, improving health and wellbeing and creating new opportunities for local residents. Consultation is essential to the planning process and it is important as many people as possible take part in our consultation survey and let us know what they think.”

Full details of the plans for King George V Sports and the answers to some frequently asked questions can be found can be viewed at www.kgvsportshub.co.uk.

Chester FC Community Trust will also be holding a number of consultation events in the Chester area so if you are unable to complete the online survey, you will still be able to share your views.
