Busy behind the scenes at Blacon Adventure Playground

20 April 2020

While Blacon Adventure Playground is closed to the public during the coronavirus outbreak, there remains plenty going on behind the scenes.

We have welcomed five new guinea pigs to the city farm, while our team has been busy carrying out maintenance and building new pens for the smaller animals.

All animals have had health checks carried out by the vet, and donkeys Coco and Coco Pops have enjoyed having free rein over the site to exercise.

Our staff have been making food parcels for vulnerable residents and those who live alone, as well as keeping in touch with our local community via social media, sharing updates, and lots of ideas to keep children active and entertained.

Sandra Hewitt, Blacon Adventure Playground manager, said: “We’re doing everything we can to stay in touch and support local families during this time.

“We look forward to re-opening and welcoming visitors back to the playground once the situation improves.”
