New affordable food club launching in Blacon

A new mobile food club is launching at the activity centre at Blacon Adventure Playground, offering a helping hand to local families by providing a cheaper alternative to their weekly shop.

The Bread and Butter Thing is an award-winning charity that redistributes fresh, good-quality surplus food that would otherwise go to waste.

The new Blacon hub will operate on Tuesdays, starting from 6 February.

Each week, members will be able to collect three bags of fruit and veg, chilled food and cupboard staples, worth around £35, for just £8.50.

The club is open to all and free to join, with no long-term commitment.
