Festival organisers bring a little bit of country to Blacon
18 May 2026
The annual Blacon Festival is back for 2026 – and this year we’re bringing a taste of Nashville to the West of Chester.
While Glastonbury may be enjoying a fallow year, there’s no rest for our team, who are busy planning for the big day.
This year marks the 29th edition of the Blacon Festival, which is again taking place at Queen Elizabeth Fields on Blacon Avenue on Saturday 4 July from 1pm-5pm.
The theme for this year is country and western and locals are invited to saddle up to join in the fun.
With live music performances alongside a wide range of entertainment, games, stalls and refreshments there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The event is widely recognised as Chester’s largest community-led festival, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “I’m really excited for this year’s Blacon Festival. We’ve been doing it for 29 years, so it’s not our first rodeo and we’ve got a fantastic day lined up.
“I look forward to welcoming people of all ages to enjoy this much-loved community celebration right here in Blacon.”
There are still stalls available to be booked, and anyone interested should email sarah.cooper3@sanctuary.co.uk, or call 07471 214238.
