Proud of Blacon? Now’s the time to have your say

Avenue Services and the Proud of Blacon Neighbourhood Board are encouraging local residents to attend a series of drop in events to find out more about plans for new government funding. 

Blacon was selected to receive up to £20million of investment across 10 years as part of the government’s UK-wide initiative called ‘Pride in Place’. 

Proud of Blacon Neighbourhood Board has arranged three community resident drop in events to give locals chance to learn more about the programme, ask questions and share their views. 

The drop ins are taking place on: 

  • Friday 18 September: 1pm – 3pm at Holy Trinity Church, CH1 5DZ  
  • Monday 21 September: 10am – 1pm at Matthew Henry Church, CH1 5RS 
  • Wednesday 30 September: 10am – 1pm at The Parade Enterprise Centre, CH1 5HN 

The events are open to everyone and an opportunity to help shape the future of Blacon over the next decade. 

Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “We’re rightly ‘Proud of Blacon’ and were delighted to hear the government would be awarding £20million to the area as part of its Pride in Place scheme. 

“These drop ins are a fantastic opportunity for people in the local community to let the Proud of Blacon Neighbourhood Board know what matters most to them and I’d encourage residents to come along.”  

For anyone unable to attend the events, an online survey has been set up where feedback can be provided. 

Avenue Services, which is a not-for-profit organisation, is a joint venture between Sanctuary and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
