The countdown to the 2024 Blacon Festival is well and truly on, with less than two weeks remaining until the big day arrives. The annual festival, organised by social enterprise Avenue Services, is taking place at Queen Elizabeth Fields on Blacon Avenue from 1-5pm on Saturday 6 July. This year’s theme is musical festivals, and visitors will be able to enjoy live performances from local artists, including our ‘Blacon’s Got Talent’ competition winner Evelyn Windrich, who will officially open the festival. There will also be a wide array of stalls, games, refreshments and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Now in its 27th year, the event is widely recognised as Chester’s largest community-led festival, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “The preparations are almost complete and we’re really looking forward to welcoming people of all ages to enjoy another fantastic community celebration right here in Blacon.” There’s still time to book a stall at this year’s festival – all the details and forms you need are here.
