Crowds bustle to Blacon for popular community festival

28 July 2025

This year was another success for Blacon festival with thousands showing up to attend the event.

Organised by social enterprise Avenue Services, the festival brings people together at Queen Elizabeth Fields to enjoy a wide range of attractions and entertainment.

The festival was kicked off by musical talent Evelyn Wendrich who gave a fantastic performance. She was then followed by band IPANIC and a performance from Flamenco Dancers.

There were more than twenty stalls from local businesses and community groups for visitors to browse, such as Here and Now, Blacon Butterflies, Darn Tart Bakery, Soul Connection and many more!

Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “This year’s festival was another brilliant celebration. It’s always great seeing its success and how it is celebrated by the community.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the attendees, stallholders, performers and organisers. Blacon Festival wouldn’t be possible without you and I look forward to seeing all again next year.”

Avenue Services, which is a not-for-profit organisation, is a joint venture between Sanctuary and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
